Bishop Martin Hayes

25th Mar 2026

Today was a very special day for our school and parish, as Bishop Martin paid us a visit.
Our P7 children attended Mass in Swanlinbar this morning, and Bishop Martin visited our school afterwards. He went to each classroom, where the children were given the opportunity to ask him questions. Bishop Martin was very impressed by the range of questions! We learned a lot about his role as a Bishop and also about him personally, including his love for hurling… up Tipp!!!

The P4 and P7 children spoke to Bishop Martin about the Sacraments they have received and will receive this year. The Bishop also learned about the children who take part in our Sunday Masses—through altar serving, reading the Prayers of the Faithful, and bringing up the gifts.

Before he left, our ECO Council presented him with a beautiful camellia plant for his garden. Bishop Martin is very interested in nature and the environment, and he was keen to learn all about the work of our ECO Council.

We thank Bishop Martin for visiting us today.
